James Brathwaite CBE Chairman of the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) Founder of Brighton-based Epic Interactive Media and Britain's first black CEO of a publicly quoted company, as well as Honorary South African Consul to South East England, James was appointed Chairman of SEEDA in 2002 and will look at his last six years with the organisation and the direction he thinks it will take after his stewardship ends.
Felicity Harvest Executive Director of Arts Council England South East and member of the Arts Council's National Executive Board After completing an Arts Degree, Felicity's career included roles ranging from running a community theatre to partnering in a consultancy firm. Felicity will be looking at the Arts Council's role in fostering business.
Andre Viljoen Subject Leader for Undergraduate Architecture, School of Architecture and Design, University of Brighton An expert in sustainable urban design, Andre has advised on several notable projects including an extension to the Archaeological School at Delphi and De Rossio Railway Station in Lisbon. He will be looking at how sustainability can influence planning and design in our region.
Jim Baker Director, Brighton Hove & Portslade Age Concern Having worked to create greater social inclusiveness for the elderly population of the region, Jim will be looking at what can be done to harness this social resource in the south coast region.
Martin Lloyd Sector Manager - Innovation & Enterprise, Research & Knowledge Transfer Services, University of Portsmouth Working to develop the University's relationships with external partners, Martin will be looking at the role of academic institutions in fostering business within the creative sectors on the South Coast.
Joseph Cavalla Sector Manager - Technical Innovation, Research & Knowledge Transfer Services, University of Portsmouth Working to foster existing and identify new external partnerships for the University, Martin will be looking at the role of Universities in local economies and how this benefits coastal communities.
Dany Louise Creative Industries Manager, Brighton & Hove City Council Amongst other achievements, Dany has been a visiting lecturer in art and design at various institutions, the Manager of Leeds Arts Arena, a board member of the South Liverpool Regeneration and a Course Director at the Liverpool Centre for Arts Development. She will be examining the role the creative industries play in the economy of Brighton.
Caterina Loriggio Cultural Olympiad Creative Programmer, Culture South East Appointed Creative Programmer for the South East in 2007, Caterina is responsible for bringing the opportunities offered by the Cultural Olympiad to the region. She will be looking at its expected impact on the region and the opportunities it offers our communities.
Derek Harding Programme Director, Margate Renewal Programme After working for six years as Director of Hyde Housing, Derek is now working to secure the regeneration of Margate and stimulate further investment into the town. He will be looking at what has been done and what still needs to be done to continue the regeneration of Margate.
Trevor Osborne Chairman, The Osborne Group As Chairman of the Osborne Group, Deputy Chairman of the Academy of Urbanism and Chairman of SEEDA's Advisory Board Trevor has an extensive understanding of the issues and challenges relating to the design and development of communities across the region. He will be looking at in depth at Bournemouth's current redevelopment work.
